Beschreibung

The dearth of information in aboriginal pepper has limited its use as breeding materials. The present study examines genetic variability and the nature of association of the traits in Nsukka Yellow Pepper. Nsukka yellow pepper is an aboriginal pepper that is cultivated almost exclusively by the people of Nsukka agricultural area. The study revealed the existence of a wide range of genetic variability in the population and also identified traits that are positively associated with fruit yield. The information generated in this study can help plant breeders in designing improvement studies in the crop.
